Faith brings miracles

If you believe you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer. Matthew 21:22 But how do we have that kind of faith?

True faith comes from love. Satan believes in God, but he does not love God. So, from that we know true faith comes from love. Also, Jesus said if you truly love, you obey the entire law. Matthew 22:40 “All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” The two greatest commandments are to love God with all your heart, mind and strength and to love others as yourself.

If you have true love, you will have all the fruits of the spirit of Galatians 5:22 which are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. True love also fills you with gratitude, passion, excitement, enthusiasm, hope and satisfaction.

All bad feelings come from a lack of love. These include fear, despair, shame, complaining, envy, hate, anger, bitterness, criticism, worry, disappointment, irritation and boredom.

Love flows to us from God. (Romans 5:5) When we allow God’s love to flow through us, we operate in love. Complaining, bitterness, worry, envy and all the negative attitudes/emotions block God’s love from flowing through us. The more we fill our minds with the fruits of the spirit, the stronger our faith will be. One thing that really strengthens my faith is to repeat a Bible verse about faith. Sometimes when I am to busy or too tired to say anything but a simple prayer I pray “I love you Lord” over and over again. It always has great results for me. If I am stressed, it gives me peace. If I am depressed it gives me joy. It builds my faith every time I do it.

The Bible says apostles performed amazing miracles. They had been with Jesus almost 24/7 for three years. Their faith was strengthened by seeing Jesus perform many miracles. In fact, the last chapter of the book of John says Jesus performed so many miracles they could not all be recorded. So the miracles we read about in the Bible were just a tiny portion of the miracles Jesus did.

But the Apostle Paul was not with Jesus while he was in a body on the earth. But Paul spent an enormous amount of time with Jesus in prayer and meditation. His lack of faith became strong faith. He performed many miracles and even his handkerchief healed people. Acts 19:12 “…even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and the diseases and evil spirits left them.”

The Bible says all Christians can do these things. Often, we think the great men and women in the Bible could do things we can’t. But the Bible says just the opposite. James 5:17 “Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. 18 Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.”

There are many verses in the Bible that promise us that God will answer our prayers if we pray in His will. https://bradstanton.com/misc/faith/
