Do you feel like a mushroom-kept in the dark and poop stacked on you?

I remember when I was a child I would help my grandmother with her garden. She grew roses and fruit trees. I still remember the delicious peaches that we picked ripe from the tree in her backyard.

She was an organic gardener. She didn’t use artificial fertilizers. Instead we would sometimes go out to the “sludge” place and scrape up a few buckets of sludge to bring back to put on her garden. The sludge was actually manure. It looked bad and smelled lousy. But it made the plants grow lush and green. The roses were beautiful and the fruit was delicious.

Maybe you have difficulties in life that are a bit like that sludge. It is no fun to be kept in the dark and have people stack poop on you. Maybe someone left you, or a boss was unfair to you. Maybe a spouse cheated on you. But just remember, you can use those difficulties to get better, not bitter. The things in your life that seem like poop can actually make you much stronger.

God will bring good out of all the difficulties you have gone through. Romans 8:28 says that all things work together for good to those who love God and are called by him. Don’t worry, if you love God, you are called by him to do great things. Ephesians 2:10 says that you are God’s masterpiece, his workmanship, created to do great things that he planned in advance for you to do.

It is really true, every difficulty you have been through makes you stronger and better. It makes you able to climb up to the next level in life.

So keep a good attitude, because it is true, your attitude determines your altitude in life, it determines how high you go.
